Derby's Kev McGuire has won Event 1 of the 2007 Phoenix Pool Series, beating 30 other entrants to first place to land the winners spot.

Kev and final opponent, Manchester's Steve Hewlett, decided to split the first/second prize money and play a best of 5 match to decide the final which Kev won 3-0.
