Nottinghamshire's Bayden Jackson has won the opening leg of the
2007 Midlands Mini-Series in Eastwood and will be hot favourite to
repeat that feat on this performance in the second instalment of
the Series in November at Derby.
With players travelling from as far as Worcester, Cambridge, the
West Midlands, Leicester, Stafford and Manchester the standard
was, as always at these events, very high. The 21 players were
drawn into 7 groups of 3 with the top players moving into the
money stages.
